Smart lock category introduction

  1. Induction lock: magnetic stripe card, IC card, TM card, RF card

Inductive lock is a type of door lock that uses an inductive card to be unlocked by a microcomputer chip. It is also called "hotel lock", which is the most commonly used type of smart door lock.

There are two kinds of induction cards required to open such a door lock: one is a contact type magnetic stripe card, and an IC card. These cards are unlocked by the degree of correspondence between the digital information and the characters. Since these important information are recorded in the magnetic stripe/chip, the card needs to be used with a card reader. To put it simply, the user needs to insert the card into the card slot when unlocking, and the card slot is the card reader; and the card reading has a fixed directivity, which is to accurately match the fit of the information. Long-term use of the proximity card will cause the magnetic strip/chip to fall off or be damaged. It needs to be replaced regularly and consumes a lot. It has gradually been eliminated by the market.

The other is a contactless TM card or RF card. The TM card uses single-line protocol communication to complete data reading and writing by instantaneous touch; while the RF card uses radio signal to identify information, both types of proximity cards do not need to be read by a card reader, and are non-contact type proximity cards. When unlocking, the user only needs to close the card to the sensing area on the door lock, and the user can easily unlock it. Moreover, this kind of card can control the authority of the card through computer operation, which greatly facilitates the management and security work, and becomes an indispensable safe electronic door lock for hotels, hotels, leisure centers and golf centers.

Today, many villas and families are beginning to accept non-contact inductive door locks. Because the proximity card contains key technologies such as communication signals that are difficult to copy and copy, it is not easy to be cracked and has a high safety factor. In addition, compared to other emerging smart door locks, the price of induction locks is relatively cheap, the replacement is relatively simple, and the use threshold is low, which is more easily accepted by the public.

But the sensor lock also has a fatal flaw. That is, the card needs to be carried with you. If you lose it, you don't need to contact the manufacturer to change it. However, if it is stolen by someone with a heart, this type of door lock only recognizes the card and does not recognize the person. No matter whoever holds the corresponding proximity card, it can succeed. Reading, the risk is still very large. Therefore, this type of door lock becomes one of the entry-level choices in smart door locks.

2, biometric lock: fingerprint, iris, face, voice, vein

Biometric lock is one of the most technologically advanced types of door locks in today's smart door locks. It has the uniqueness and unchangeability of personal signs, and holds high the "high security performance" banner. Nowadays, many manufacturers have introduced various biometric technologies, from the most common fingerprints, irises, faces, to voiceprints and veins, which you can't imagine.

The fingerprint lock is another big market category after the password lock. It can be divided into two types: an optical fingerprint head and a semiconductor fingerprint head. The optical fingerprint head is read and recognized by the fingerprint image, and the semiconductor fingerprint lock mainly relies on capacitive sensing to recognize the fingerprint. Relatively speaking, the latter is more accurate, faster, safer and more reliable than the former, and can also avoid the problem that the fingerprints of the elderly and children at home are not easily recognized.

The iris and face recognition door locks are still in the research and development stage, and some new products will appear to test the market reaction, but they have not been widely introduced to the mass market. The voice and venous locks are regarded as "smart technology" products. Although the success has attracted the attention of the public, very few people are willing to try.

In addition to fingerprint locks already recognized by the market, other biometric door locks are marginalized. There are three reasons: First, in addition to fingerprint recognition, other biometric technologies are still immature. For example, the iris recognition system consists of two major modules: hardware and software, which are the two parts of image acquisition and recognition algorithms, which are indispensable. Second, the cost of equipment is high, the average user can't afford it, and can't be widely promoted. For example, the iPhone X equipped with Face ID can really make people look like they are sighing. Third, the safety performance of biometrics is still in the wait-and-see stage.

Nothing to do, the application of biometric technology in the door lock is extremely scientific and imaginative, and I hope to see these "magic door locks" landing as soon as possible.

3, remote control lock: mobile APP, Bluetooth control, WIFI, access control intercom

The last remote lock mainly uses wireless technology and Internet of Things technology to realize the connection of the door lock and the mobile phone or remote control through wireless signals such as network and Bluetooth. The most common is to unlock the phone through Bluetooth / APP, WIFI, access control intercom system.

Remote control locks are nothing new. Some high-end hotels have taken the lead in integrating mobile phone APP unlocking solutions into the development of smart locks. Just open Bluetooth and directly scan the code into the mobile APP, you can click to unlock and discard the traditional sensor cards. More intelligent, convenient and efficient.

In the long run, it will be an inevitable trend for smart door locks to enter the home. Now smart door locks need to solve two key problems. One is whether the price can be more close to the people, and the other is whether it can overcome potential security risks. In particular, there are security risks, whether there are loopholes that can be exploited by criminals, and this may be a long-term battle for the whole industry.
